You really need to stick to the express pre requisite instructions described below, before proceeding with updating your firmware of your phone. Following are the instructions to be followed.
Step 1:
Allow USB Debugging within your device in the path “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”. The USB Debugging choice must be ticked.
Step 2:
Be sure that the mobile phone is still having at least 60% battery charge in order to be sure that the mobile phone does not get switched off during firmware up-date.
